New Year, New Blog

Happy New Year! As you can see, Wanderful Knits is back and with a new look, new upcoming content and a new store! Yes, there is even a store because your girl has embarked on a journey into knitwear design. More on that to come in later posts.

So I know the blog just sort of fell off the face of the Earth and it has definitely been a while since I posted in this space. When the pandemic hit and the world started changing, I’ll be the first to admit that my motivation to write dwindled exponentially. That coupled with the inability/lack of desire to travel resulted in the blog taking a bit of a backseat in my life while I figured out some things.

Now I’m not a social butterfly by any means, so it’s not as if I didn’t have the time to put towards the blog, but while I may have had the time, I definitely didn’t have the energy. Every time I tried to sit down and write, everything felt so trivial that I immediately closed my computer. It started feeling like I had nothing meaningful to write, so why would it be worth reading. When those demotivating thoughts began to pervade my already tired mind, it got even easier to just walk away from my computer time and time again.

Getting close to the last few months of 2021, I started feeling the writing itch flaring yet again, but I didn’t want to just jump right back into it. So instead, I decided to take that time to be a little more mindful and really question how I wanted to utilize this little space I’d carved out for myself on the internet. While the blog wasn’t a priority, it never really left my mind and even though I wasn’t writing, I was still knitting. Which meant I was still being inspired, still learning and still growing, most importantly.

For me, the journey has always been just as important as the destination in everything I do. Whether it’s travel or knitting, I’m an avid lover of adventure and how I get to where I want to go plays just as important a role as being there.

With that said, I want this space to be a journal for ALL of my fibre adventures and not just the ones that may require a plane ride. I want this to be a place where stories, mines, and others are shared around topics related to travel, fibre arts, designing, etc.

If you are still here with me after all this time, I want you to know that I wholeheartedly appreciate you, and I’m grateful for your support. I’m incredibly excited to take you on this new adventure with me, and I hope you enjoy the journey.
